I’ve decided that my content doesn’t have to be serious. The more serious I make my newsletters, my videos, my streams, the more detached they become from who I am sometimes.
I’m the kind of person who gets in his own way a lot.
That sentence alone speaks to my point.

Anyway, this is a thought I had:

On a small whiteboard in my room, I wrote.

“Nobody is going to give you it but yourself.”
I know it kinda sounds kind of sexual but stop that.

In other words, nobody will give you the time to work on what you love, or to become a person who works on what they love. You have to give it to yourself.

Life can feel like it’s trying to bog you down, and if you have plans contrary to what the world sees fit, it will try to stop you with the entirety of its might.
With every ounce of society—technology, social views, standards of the norm, daily schedule conflicts, the hierarchy of needs—the world will try and keep you from doing that one thing that ignites your day.
This makes it easy to slip out of your stream of productivity and prioritization, and after all, how much do you really want? More than society can give you? More than you deserve?

It takes a degree of selfishness to disobey, but in this case, selfishness is usually appropriate. Nobody will give you the time. You need to take it. You need to kick your own ass about it.
I’m telling myself all of this after a day of giving in to the wave of distractions. When you’re lowest you try harder. When you’re at your most productive point, you allow yourself to slip.
And all the while, nobody waits for you.

The only solace I’ve found is in a simple truth: Time Flies.
It flies without you, and it flies with you.

Stay Fun,

Noah
